Ms. Satomi Kawamura’s practice focuses on Invention Mining, the Preparation and Prosecution of Domestic and International Patent Applications, Expert Opinions, and IP Consulting in the field of Chemistry and Biotechnology.

Careers

Ms. Kawamura’s career prior to joining Prezio includes:
(i) a researcher of a Japanese chemical manufacturer, where she was engaged in the development of resin modifiers, responsible for the entire process from synthesis of modifiers to evaluation;
(ii) a member of a Japanese IP Firm, where she was engaged in the preparation and prosecution of Domestic and International Patent Applications and obtained qualification as a patent attorney.

Educational Background

Master of Agricultural Science, Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku University
Ms. Kawamura studied biochemistry, microbiology, genetic engineering, protein engineering, etc. at university and graduate school. In particular, she conducted to elucidate the mechanisms controlling the degradation of membrane proteins present on the cell membrane of S. cerevisiae in the university graduation research, and conducted a total synthesis research of natural products derived from actinomycetes in the graduate master's program.
